The geogrid has the characteristics of high tensile strength, large deformation modulus, corrosion resistance, anti-aging, and large friction coefficient with soil particles. It is placed in the soil to improve the overall stress conditions of the soil. Improve the overall stability of the roadbed, improve the bearing capacity of the foundation, and extend the service life of the subgrade. It has been widely used in highway subgrade construction.

Geogrid is a kind of geosynthetic material. According to different synthetic raw materials, it can be divided into plastic geogrid, steel geogrid, glass fiber geogrid and glass fiber polyester geogrid.

In the subgrade construction, the geogrid is buried at the junction of the roadbed filling and excavation, which can enhance the integrity of the transition section and improve the overall stability of the subgrade. The mechanism of geogrid action can be summarized into the following three cases.
